Getting Healthy / Milestone / RM3

Milestone Monday

There are exciting times ahead.  And I’m not just referring to the new Star Wars movie coming out at the end of the week, though that is definitely going to be one of the high points of 2015.

No, I’m talking about what lies ahead for me in my journey to get healthy.  This past Monday, December 14, 2015, I reached a considerable milestone.  It’s an important moment in my journey because I am now back to the weight I was when I stopped the Atkins-based program back in 1999.  On the Atkins plan, I hit 250 and simply could not get below that.  The coming weeks I’m hoping will show me pushing below that limit and heading into weight territory that I haven’t been in since…oh, I don’t know…maybe my teens?  I can’t remember the last time I weighed less than 250.

For now I’m grateful to be where I am.  I have let go of 100 pounds of useless, energy-sapping, body-harming fat.  I feel better than I have in a long while, and I’m looking forward to where I’m going.  I expect to be on the weight-loss phase of the RM3 program from Tucson Medical Weight Loss until the first week of February.  At which point, I will move into phase 2, which is the pre-maintenance phase.  I will stay on that for a month, and then move into the lifetime maintenance phase.  My goal is to be about 220 by then.  Considering my past performance on this program, I don’t anticipate that to be a problem.

I mentioned in the video that I was going to provide some links to other inspirational getting healthy journeys.  Truth is there’s a lot of them out there.  If you go to YouTube and search for inspirational weight loss videos, you’ll get a ton of results.  Did you see what I did there?  I made a funny.  Because I used the term “ton” to describe the number of results for…okay, never mind.  Here are a few of the inspirational videos I found.

This is Kaitlyn Smith’s story.  She let go of over 200 pounds in one year.

And here’s Lindsay March’s journey.  She liberated her body of almost 300 pounds of excess weight.

And here is John David Glaude’s journey.  Throwing one in here from a guy’s perspective.

And there are so many more success stories out there.  None of these folks used the RM3 protocol or HCG as far as I’m aware.  But that’s not the point.  The point is, they all made the decision to make a tremendous change in their lives.  To go from their unhealthy lifestyles to ones that lead to healthy living.  I’m providing these here because I believe that we gain motivation from seeing other people’s successes.  When we see that there are others who were suffering from the same plight as ourselves and have achieved success in their journey’s to getting healthy, it gives us hope that we can do the same thing for ourselves.  That’s one of the reasons I’m documenting my own journey.  It’s not because of any narcissistic need to show off to the world.  I have no reason to believe that anyone on the Internet would even remotely be interested in me.  But even if only one person sees them and gains inspiration by them, then I feel like I’ve done my job.

If you have any questions or would like to know more about what I’m doing or just want to talk, please send me a note.  I can be reached through my About page.
